OUR STORY • OUR ISLAND

For the island
we call home.

Celebrating the people who make Guam special, and creating a place for our local community to grow together.

A message from our founders
A harvest basket surrounded by tropical leaves and island fieldsROOTED IN COMMUNITY

Håfa adai!

As two young island women who grew up on Guam, we hold this island extremely close to our hearts. Its beauty, its people, and the many cultures and stories that come together here have shaped who we are.

We’ve had the opportunity to travel the world and experience other places, but every return to Guam reminds us of the real beauty of home. We see it in our island’s landscapes, in the people we meet, and in the everyday kindness and connections that make this community so special.

Farmers Festival is our way of giving back and showing our appreciation for the island that has given us so much. As island residents, we want to bring our community together and shine a light on the people working, growing, creating, and building something right here at home.

Our hope is to bring together local farmers, fishers, plant growers, goods sellers, and small mom-and-pop shops in one welcoming space. We want our neighbors to meet the faces behind these businesses, hear their stories, discover what they offer, and recognize the care they put into our island every day.

To our tourists and visitors: we invite you to shop local, shop Guam. Get to know the people who make this island special, discover something grown or made here, and take a little of that connection with you.

Whether you come to explore, learn, shop, or simply spend time with your neighbors, you are part of this celebration. Thank you for supporting our island and the people who make it home. We look forward to gathering with you.

With love for our island,
Amani and Eva Dior

WHY LOCAL MATTERS

Small island.
So much to discover.

A whole lot of håfa adai

Guam welcomed about 783,000 visitor arrivals in 2025. That’s a lot of chances to introduce someone to a local favorite.

Even mangoes get a celebration.

Hågat’s Mango Festival celebrates the fruit with treats from pickled mango to mango donuts, plus harvest contests. On Guam, growing food can be a reason to gather.

MADE HERE, SHARED HERE

Come for a bite. Meet a maker.

At Chamorro Village, local produce shares the spotlight with food, handmade jewelry, and woodwork. Our festival’s home is already a place where island creativity meets community.

The work behind every harvest

Growing locally takes careful planning as well as hard work. In March 2026, the University of Guam described the challenge of understanding crop-production costs and setting prices that can sustain a farm while competing with imported produce. Its new cost study is underway, with findings expected to begin in 2027. [2]

Severe weather can also interrupt that work. After Typhoon Mawar in 2023, USDA offered assistance for debris removal and restoring damaged farm fences on Guam. [3] These are reminders of the effort behind the goods we buy and the value of knowing the people who produce them.

A place to connect

Farmers Festival creates an opportunity to meet local producers, learn about their work, and discover businesses you can continue supporting beyond festival day. Bringing farmers and neighbors together is one practical way to build awareness and lasting connections.

THERE’S A PLACE FOR YOU HERE

Many kinds of local.
One island community.

Farmers, fishers, plant growers, goods sellers, and mom-and-pop shops: this celebration is for the people whose work helps our island thrive.
